Before buying a used vehicle registered in Punjab, check its Excise record online on the MTMIS vehicle verification site (mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk) using the registration number and registration date, and check its unpaid e-challans on echallan.psca.gop.pk. To make sure it is not stolen and has no record in any Punjab police station, get a police vehicle verification at any e-Khidmat Markaz (Rs. 500 for a motorcycle, Rs. 2,000 for other vehicles).

- • The MTMIS site asks for the vehicle number and the registration date; it suggests trying different combinations of the number, e.g. "lxz 123", "lxz 0123", "lxz 1111", "lxz-07-1111".
- • The MTMIS site also has Application Tracking, Vanity Vehicle Verification, e-Registration Card and Number Plate Information pages.
- • PSCA tracks and intercepts blacklisted vehicles, "including vehicles with multiple unpaid e-challans, those declared blacklisted by the Excise & Taxation Department, vehicles involved in FIRs or criminal cases, and cars using cloned, fake, or tampered number plates". Check these before you buy.
- • e-Khidmat Markaz timings: 09:00 am to 05:00 pm, Monday to Saturday; lunch/prayer break 01:00–02:00 pm; closed 12:30–02:30 pm on Friday. Evening service (06:00 pm to 12:00 am) only at Lahore ASTP and Lahore Town Hall.
