نئی گاڑی رجسٹر کروائیں (پنجاب)

Every new car, motorcycle or other vehicle bought in Punjab must be registered with the Excise & Taxation Department. You submit Form F with the sale invoice and certificate (or import papers), pay the registration fee, number plate fee and taxes, and complete biometric verification; the registration card is then issued.

پنجاب میں خریدی گئی ہر نئی کار، موٹر سائیکل یا دوسری گاڑی کی ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں رجسٹریشن ضروری ہے۔ آپ سیل انوائس اور سیل سرٹیفکیٹ (یا امپورٹ کے کاغذات) کے ساتھ فارم F جمع کرواتے ہیں، رجسٹریشن فیس، نمبر پلیٹ فیس اور ٹیکس ادا کرتے ہیں اور بائیومیٹرک تصدیق کرواتے ہیں؛ اس کے بعد رجسٹریشن کارڈ جاری ہوتا ہے۔

Who can apply

The original purchaser of an unregistered vehicle, or a person who bought an unregistered vehicle from the original purchaser/importer (with a T.O. form).
Biometric verification applies to new registration and ownership transfer.

Documents you need

Application for registration of vehicle – Form F
Copy of CNIC of owner (individuals)
Locally manufactured: original sales certificate and original sales invoice
Imported: copy of import permission from Customs, duplicate copy of GD in original showing payment of all taxes/duties, copy of invoice (if bought directly from manufacturer), copy of bill of lading
Proof of payment of registration fee, number plate fee and other leviable taxes
If the original purchaser/importer sold it unregistered: T.O. (Transfer Order) form, documents showing the sale, and copy of seller's CNIC

Steps

Good to know

• Registration fee on cars: not exceeding 1000cc – 1% of vehicle value; 1001–2000cc – 2%; above 2000cc – 4%. Motorcycles above 150cc – 2%. Tractors, trucks, buses, rickshaws and taxis – 1% of value.
• Electric vehicles: 95% of registration fee and 95% of motor vehicle tax are exempted.
• Token tax for 2026-27: 1001–2000cc – 0.3% of invoice price; above 2000cc – 0.4% of invoice price.
• Withholding (income) tax is collected at new registration at different rates for filers and non-filers (e.g. 1001–1300cc: 1.5% of value for filers, 4.5% for non-filers, from 1 July 2024). Capital Value Tax of 1% of vehicle value applies to vehicles above 1300cc (from 1 July 2022) if not already paid.
• Biometric verification must be done within 30 days of paying the challan; if it is not done, the challan amount must be deposited again.
• At e-Khidmat Markaz, motor vehicle services are offered Mon–Thu 9:00 am–1:00 pm and Fri–Sat 9:00 am–12:00 pm; payment in cash (PKR) at the adjacent National Bank.
