UET Lahore admits students to its engineering, computing, architecture, science and business bachelor's programmes. Engineering, computing and architecture programmes need the ECAT entry test (registration fee Rs. 3,000), which carries 33% weight in merit; non-ECAT science and business programmes are merit-based on matric and first-year marks. After ECAT, you must apply separately on the UET admission portal and choose your programme preferences.

Who can apply
- Engineering, Architecture and Computer Engineering (NCEAC) programmes: at least 60% marks in Intermediate or equivalent.
- Science, Technology and Business programmes: at least 50% marks in Intermediate or equivalent.
- Each programme requires specific Intermediate subjects; candidates without the required subjects are ineligible for that programme. F.Sc. Pre-Medical students may apply for computing programmes.
- ECAT is compulsory for Engineering, Computing, Architecture and related disciplines; non-ECAT science and business programmes do not need it.
- Minimum aggregate / merit score of 50% for consideration.
- Open merit seats are for Punjab-domiciled (including ICT) applicants unless otherwise specified; some programmes (e.g. Geological, Metallurgical & Materials, Mining, Textile, Biomedical Engineering, City & Regional Planning, Product & Industrial Design) are offered on an All Pakistan basis.
- Anyone can take ECAT, but appearing in the test does not by itself give the right to admission. Candidates appearing in Intermediate Part-II / A-Level finals may sit ECAT for Fall admission.
- There is no age restriction for any bachelor's programme.

- 2Fill in the ECAT application form, choosing the subject combination that matches your Intermediate subjects.ای کیٹ کا درخواست فارم پُر کریں اور اپنے انٹرمیڈیٹ مضامین کے مطابق مضامین کا مجموعہ منتخب کریں۔

- 4When admissions open, pay the Rs. 3,000 application challan and apply on admission.uet.edu.pk. Good to know
- • Merit for ECAT-based programmes (Intermediate stream), per the Fall 2026 prospectus: ECAT percentage 33%, first-year (Part-I) percentage 50%, Matric percentage 17%. For O/A Level: ECAT 33% and 11th class (O Level or equivalent) marks 67%. For diploma holders: ECAT 33% and first and second year marks 67%.
- • Merit for non-ECAT programmes: Matric 25% and first-year Intermediate (or equivalent) 75%.
- • ECAT has 100 MCQs in 100 minutes for a maximum of 400 marks (English 10, Physics 30, Mathematics or Biology 30, Chemistry / Computer Science / Statistics 30). Each correct answer earns 4 marks; there is no minimum passing mark.
- • Fall 2026: ECAT was held in two phases. The best score of ECAT Fall 2026 First and Second counts for merit. ECAT Phase Two registration opened 14 May 2026 and the test was held 16 to 21 June 2026. The registration deadline was given as 9 June 2026 on the UET announcement and 13 June 2026 on the ECAT portal.
- • Fall 2026 admission applications: 8 June to 15 July 2026, with a preference edit window from 12 to 14 July 2026 (Rs. 1,500). Dates for the next cycle (Fall 2027) had not been published on the official pages checked.
- • The application fee and challan / token are non-refundable and non-transferable. Applications are only accepted online.
- • If you do not submit the fee and documents after selection, you are excluded from all future merit lists.
- • Leftover / vacant seats: existing applicants pay Rs. 1,500 and new applicants pay Rs. 3,000 to apply, subject to seat availability.
- • Admissions are offered at the Main Campus Lahore, Faisalabad, Narowal, RCET Gujranwala and Kala Shah Kaku campuses.

Questions people ask
›Is ECAT required for every UET programme?
No. ECAT is compulsory for Engineering, Computing, Architecture and related disciplines. Non-ECAT science and business programmes do not require it.
›How is UET merit calculated?
For Intermediate students in ECAT-based programmes: 33% ECAT, 50% first-year (Part-I) marks and 17% Matric marks. Non-ECAT programmes use 25% Matric and 75% first-year marks.
›Do I pay separately for each programme?
No. One application fee of Rs. 3,000 covers multiple programmes.
›Is there a passing mark in ECAT?
No minimum threshold is set. The test is out of 400, with 4 marks for each correct answer.
