Check and register your mobile phone (PTA DIRBS)
اپنا موبائل فون چیک اور رجسٹر کریں (پی ٹی اے ڈربس)
PTA's DIRBS system blocks mobile devices that are not registered or compliant. Check any phone's IMEI by SMS to 8484, *8484# or the DVS app, and register a phone brought from abroad (or otherwise unregistered) on the DIRBS portal, by *8484# or at a mobile operator's franchise, after paying FBR duty/taxes through the PSID.

Good to know
- • Duty and taxes are set by FBR, not PTA; check the amount on FBR's mobile device duty pages. There is no discount for registering within 60 days, and filers also pay the duty.
- • A device brought from abroad works for 60 days from the day a local SIM is inserted; after that it stops receiving service unless registered. The 60 days are not renewed on a later visit with the same phone.
- • There are no registration counters at airports; registration is online.
- • The PSID is valid for 7 days; if not paid, the application is deleted and you must re-apply.
- • Up to five (05) devices can be registered by an individual in a calendar year.
- • Overseas Pakistanis and foreigners visiting on a short-term basis can temporarily register one device for up to 120 days from arrival (verified with FIA data); the device then works only with the declared SIM.
- • Before buying a phone in Pakistan, check every IMEI on 8484 and make sure it shows PTA Compliant/Registered. If the device is registered under the individual category, get the PSID and customs duty record from the seller.
