NICOP for overseas Pakistanis

Who can apply

• Pakistani citizens or dual nationals living abroad

Documents you need

• Existing NICOP / CNIC / manual NIC (if any)
• Pakistani passport (valid or expired); a valid passport is required at e-Khidmat Markaz counters
• Proof of legal status in the country of residence (as asked by the mission, e.g. residence or work permit)
• Birth certificate / Form-B / Matric certificate (first-time applicants)
• Copies of parents' CNIC/NICOP or manual NIC
• Spouse's CNIC/NICOP and marriage certificate (or divorce certificate), if applicable
• S-1 Form for children born abroad, attested by a Pakistan Embassy/Consulate
• Two verifiers with CNIC/NICOP copies and contact numbers (not parents, children, spouse or siblings) – as required by the Washington mission
• For renewal: old CNIC/NICOP; for duplicate: copy or number of the lost card; for modification: documents supporting the change (e.g. Nikah Nama)

Steps

2. 2At a mission abroad: book an appointment with the NADRA desk or registration centre at your Pakistan Embassy or Consulate.بیرون ملک مشن میں: اپنے پاکستانی سفارت خانے یا قونصل خانے کے نادرا ڈیسک یا رجسٹریشن سینٹر سے وقت لیں۔
3. 3At the mission, get a token and pay the fee, then have your photograph, fingerprints and signature taken.مشن میں ٹوکن لیں اور فیس ادا کریں، پھر اپنی تصویر، انگلیوں کے نشانات اور دستخط کروائیں۔

Good to know

• • NICOP fees vary by the zones set by NADRA. At e-Khidmat Markaz in Pakistan the fee is told at the NADRA counter and paid in cash only.
• • Embassy of Pakistan, Doha lists Smart NICOP fees (new, modification except age, duplicate, renewal) as QR 75 Normal, QR 110 Urgent, QR 150 Executive, plus QR 3 bank fee per transaction; fees are paid by debit/credit card only.
• • The Washington D.C. mission charges an additional US$26 Embassy Service Charge per application; NICOP fees are paid directly to NADRA, are non-refundable and are paid online by debit/credit card only.
• • At the Washington mission the NADRA desk works by appointment only; walk-ins are not accepted except in emergencies.
• • Use only the official website https://id.nadra.gov.pk. MOFA warns that fake websites and agents process NICOP/POC applications, charge more than the notified fees and put your identity data at risk.
• • For a newborn's NICOP, both parents' marital status must be updated in their CNIC/NICOP, otherwise the application will not be processed (Embassy in Manama).
• • Smart NICOP fees (new, renewal, duplicate or modification) in USD: Zone A (USA and Europe) 39 Normal, 57 Urgent, 75 Executive; Zone B (Middle East and Africa) 20, 30, 40. Paid in PKR at the official rate on the application date (NADRA fee structure).
