Register (incorporate) a company with SECP

Companies in Pakistan are incorporated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). According to the Board of Investment, you obtain a PIN from SECP online, then reserve the company name, register the company and pay incorporation fees on the SECP e-portal, which can also obtain your NTN and some provincial registrations in the same process.
پاکستان میں کمپنیاں سیکیورٹیز اینڈ ایکسچینج کمیشن آف پاکستان (ایس ای سی پی) کے ذریعے رجسٹر ہوتی ہیں۔ بورڈ آف انویسٹمنٹ کے مطابق پہلے ایس ای سی پی سے آن لائن پن حاصل کیا جاتا ہے، پھر ایس ای سی پی کے ای-پورٹل پر کمپنی کا نام محفوظ کرایا جاتا ہے، کمپنی رجسٹر کی جاتی ہے اور انکارپوریشن فیس ادا کی جاتی ہے۔ اسی عمل میں این ٹی این اور بعض صوبائی رجسٹریشنز بھی حاصل کی جا سکتی ہیں۔

Steps
- 1Obtain a PIN for company registration from SECP (online, less than one day).ایس ای سی پی سے کمپنی رجسٹریشن کے لیے پن حاصل کریں (آن لائن، ایک دن سے کم وقت)۔
- 2On the SECP e-portal, reserve the company name.ایس ای سی پی کے ای-پورٹل پر کمپنی کا نام محفوظ (ریزرو) کرائیں۔
- 3Submit the company registration on the same e-portal and pay the incorporation fees.اسی ای-پورٹل پر کمپنی رجسٹریشن کی درخواست جمع کرائیں اور انکارپوریشن فیس ادا کریں۔
- 4Through the SECP e-portal, also obtain the company's National Tax Number (NTN) and the linked provincial registrations offered there.ایس ای سی پی کے ای-پورٹل کے ذریعے کمپنی کا نیشنل ٹیکس نمبر (این ٹی این) اور وہاں دستیاب منسلک صوبائی رجسٹریشنز بھی حاصل کریں۔

Good to know
- • The Board of Investment lists these steps for Karachi; in Karachi the SECP e-portal step also covers registration with the Excise & Taxation Department (Professional Tax), SESSI, EOBI and the Labour Department.
- • SECP's own website could not be accessed for this card. Check current fees and the exact online process on secp.gov.pk before you apply.
- • To register a company for income tax at an FBR Tax House instead, the Principal Officer brings the Incorporation Certificate, CNICs of all directors, an authorization letter on company letterhead signed by all directors, the company's bank account certificate, and business premises documents.
